Accessibility Policy

Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N., located on the first level of Yorkdale Shopping Centre, is a fully accessible guest experience. There are no stairs, uneven flooring or angles that are difficult to navigate. Please see below to see how we meet numerous accessibility needs.

GUIDE DOGS

We welcome all fully trained assistance dogs into Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N. Due to flashing lights, loud music and our guests, we are unable to accommodate assistance dogs in training. Owners should keep in mind that Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N. may be distracting and disorientating for the dog. Food and beverages are not permitted inside the exhibit, including food and beverages for guide dogs.

WHEELCHAIRS

Yorkdale Shopping Centre and Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N. are wheelchair accessible. Manual and electric wheelchairs are welcome inside the exhibit, and we do not require advance notice if you are visiting. However, due to the layout of Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N., only a certain number of guests with wheelchairs can enter at any given time. Our Box Office staff and Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N. Agents are happy to discuss this and other accessibility concerns with you on arrival, so please do make them aware of your specific needs.

SENSORY

To limit physical contact, Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N. will not provide sensory stimulants or ear defenders to guests. We encourage those that are sensitive to loud noises, or parents and caregivers of those who are concerned about potential noise level, to think about bringing ear defenders or equivalents to Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N. We strongly recommend that parents and caregivers exercise discretion according to their child or person in care’s individual sensitivities. For more specific information, please contact hello@avengersstationcanada.com or ask to speak to the General Manager once inside. Our staff will be happy to explain what Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N entails.

GUESTS WITH HIDDEN DISABILITIES

Guests with additional needs can collect a Hidden Disability wristband during their visit from our Box Office. These act as a discreet sign to staff that an individual may need additional assistance or support during their visit or in an emergency. Our staff have been trained to recognize if a guest is wearing this particular wristband to ask whether there is anything that they might need assistance with. The wristbands are available to collect free of charge from either the Ticket Window or Information Desk during your visit. Please speak to a member of our Box Office staff for assistance or contact us at hello@avengersstationcanada.com.

ON ARRIVAL

Parking is provided free of charge in Yorkdale Shopping Centre parking lots. A number of display badge disability parking bays are available close to shopping centre entrances for the convenience of our eligible visitors. Please ensure that you bring your disabled parking badge on the day of your visit and display it in your window.

Yorkdale has reserved parking for visitors with small children. Look for the baby carriage signs featured near shopping centre entrances.

WASHROOMS

There are no washrooms inside Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N. itself, however, there are accessible washrooms with baby changing facilities and unisex washrooms within Yorkdale Shopping Centre. For more information please visit the shopping centre website.

CAREGIVERS

We are keen to promote equality of opportunity for people with accessibility concerns and where possible, have the necessary steps taken to meet our guests’ requirements. Caregivers and carers should email hello@avengersstationcanada.com for more information about ticketing.

MEDICAL EXEMPTIONS

Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N. requires that guests who are unable to wear a face mask or face covering due to a medical condition present an official medical note from a physician specifying this medical exemption. Please ensure that this documentation is a medical certificate and issued by a medical professional holding the Doctor designation. There are many different types of medical professionals; however, only those with the designation of Doctor (MD) may issue a valid medical certificate. They must: include the official letterhead, be dated, clearly state the guest’s name and that they have a medical condition which prevents them from wearing a face mask and be the original certificate. Mask exemption cards will not be accepted as a form of medical exemption. On arrival please make your way to the Box Office and ask to see the General Manager. Your certification will be verified and a specific colour coded wristband will be issued. Our staff are trained to recognize if a guest is wearing a medical exemption wristband and ensure your guest experience is not interrupted.
